PE final Blog

Well, this has been a very good year for me. I got to meet some new friends and interact with some old ones. I managed to set myself some goals from last year that I renewed this year to increase it further and achieve excellence. I learned that pacing helps maintain your stamina and prevents me from consistently walking, something I was not able to grasp back in Grade 8. This year, I did far more physical activity, but not so much as to overdo it. I was introduced to new fitness activities, like the Pond Relays and the extension of the community run. I like to try out new things and having fun doing them so they were fun for me, even though I got really tired afterwards. I also found that listening to tunes while I'm jogging also helps time to pass by a bit quicker as I focus on listening to my tunes while running instead of worrying what the time is because last year, whenever I find out that there was only 1 minute left before the 25 minute run ended, I just stopped cause I automatically assumed I wasn't going to finish the lap I was currently on. I enjoyed sports that required teams as I was able to interact with the people in my class and also in other classes (when we mix all classes to do choice)I also been cutting down on my videogames and food and went outside to hang out and play some more Basketball. When summer vacation begins, I hope to do a bit more physical activity, but the temptation of playing videogames will come to me. In fitness, I gave myself an opportunity to assess myself and how I am progressing towards achieving my goal of raising my stamina and I was proud of how much progress I made throughout the semester and did it all with a smile on my face. Positive energy, in my opinion, is an important value to have in PE to make it more enjoyable, no matter what the activity is (no matter if it's an activity we like or an activity we're not exactly comfortable with) Time truly flies when you're having fun doing Sports and other physical activities. I plan on working hard and maintaining my stamina by jogging during the summer and hope I can get some better results next year. Here is also a lasting comment from me and 2 of my friends: Marco and Christian. I was not in the video because I was the one that recorded this video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S4VCd2M6DEw

Fitness blog

Over the year, I have been setting myself a goal in order to raise my stamina and to work on my pacing because last year, I worried too much on speed and not so much on how long I could maintain my speed. So exercises like the Beep test and the 25 minute run helped me with pacing and seeing how much stamina I have accumulated over the years. When I observed my recent beep test results, I was shocked that my score on the Beep Test went from a 7 to a 9. On the one I got 9 on, I was actually going for an 8, but I was never known to just go to my goal and just stay there. I like to go farther, despite the fact my body's tiredness is tempting me to stop, which brings me to my other goal. I also planned to increase my mental strength as I would always give up the moment I got tired. Now I know that even if I'm tired, that doesn't necessarily mean that my body has given it's all. My beep test results have also proven that I have achieved my goal of increasing my mental strength by not giving up so easily. Here is the result of my first beep test This is the result of my second beep test These shows how much I have increased on my fitness and increased stamina. I am proud that I am able to achieve these goals and am now able to go even further because I know I can do better if I put my mind and body into it

Basketball match

Every now and then, while i practice, I like to invite some of my friends over and we would play some basketball in front of my house. Last weekend, my friends Christian, Marco, and Jacob came over and we had several matches of basketball. We also did some challenges like who can get the most shots in a minute and how many dribble we can do in 30 seconds. While of course, despite the fact they're here and we play games, this gives me an opportunity to assess how much my practice was paying off. It turns out, it paid off quite well, as i fared well against Marco in one on one gameplay and I even ended up winning. I like to look for openings in matches and exploit them and also assess the person tactics and find their weaknesses for when they're doing offense or defense. We gave it our all but over the time we kept playing, we got really tired and were sweating by the time we finished with all the hot weather outside on that day. Here is a match I had against Marco separated into 2 parts. Part 1: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tSRkLkqoGoI Part 2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NqTWy9qdDMA

Training session

When I'm not busy doing homework or hanging out with friends, I like to step outside under the sun and play some Basketball. I go outside daily for 30 minutes to one hour almost everyday. I like to hone my skills and imprive overall at Basketball. I've been practicing my dribbling, my shooting, and my ability to do lay-ups. It's also given me a chance to take a break from my lazy life at home: playing video games, lying in bed, watching youtube on my computer and being on facebook chatting with my friends, and doing my homework. I like to give it my all when I am outside because there's really nothing for me to lose other than getting a rest, but I can do that later on anyway. I occasionally invite my friends to play basketball with me, so I have a chance to show how much I've improved to them and myself and demonstrate my skills in one-on-one and team games. I am also hoping to join a basketball team as well to show myself that I have been improving with every practice session. Here is a sample video of my basketball training https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LNN0FreP64Y
